Lawrence P. English, 86, St. Augustine Shores, died April 2, 2001, at his home. He was
born in Philadelphia, and he had lived most of his life in the Philadelphia and Haddon
Heights, N.J., areas. He was an engineer and served, from the 1950s to the 1960s as chief
engineer of KSM Products, Inc., Merchantville, N.J. During his tenure he was awarded
numerous patents for welding devices he designed. Following his retirement he was, for
many years, a volunteer worker for St. John of God Community Services, Deptford, N.J. He
was also an avid ham radio operator known in amateur radio circles as K2XI.
Private memorial services will be held in July in the Philadelphia area.

Mr. English was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Weeks-English.
Survivors include his companion Margaret Valiton, St. Augustine Shores; two sons,
Lawrence English, Longboat Key and Simsbury, Conn., Richard English, San Diego, Calif.;
two daughters, Lynn Bresan, St. Augustine Shores, Judith English, Mount Laurel, N.J.; 11
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
